Taxonomy
Conogethes sp. 6. Specimens in several collections.
Description
A very lightly spotted Conogethes sp. with a similar pattern to Conogethes evaxalis Walker 1859 but much less distictly marked. It is orange-yellow with darker orange-brown marks and a series of small termenal black spots on both wings. The costal end of post-median and sub-median lines are black whereas the rest of the lines are indistinct orange-brown.
RTS (1994: 193, Pl. 31, fig. 17) illustrate a specimen as C. clioalis Walker, 1859d: 549-550, from Singapore, which is different from the holotype but very similar to this.
It differs from C. clioalis by having termenal dashes, not spots, on HW and the FW postmedian fascia lineation is not broken into spots. Like Conogethes sp. 2 it lacks the large distinct spot very obvious in the base of the HW of Conogethes evaxalis Walker 1859e: 995; and the small punctum of Conogethes sp. 3. See Conogethes sp. 4 which may be conspecific but that morphotype has slightly more distinct marginal marks.
