The wings of this morphotype have a complex fasciation of dark reddish brown markings on a golden background, paler and less marked terminally on the FW. In fresh specimens this paler area is very obvious. Parts of the wings are flushed red. There is a broad submedian fascia on the FW. This narrows centrally and splits towards the costa. The HW has an indistinct, darker, straight median band.
