Taxonomy
The holotype of Botys dissipatalis Lederer, 1863c: 478, Pl. 11, fig. 13 is from Ambon. comb. n. to Uresiphita (Inoue et al. 1982 (1): 358; (2): 238, 454.). ms comb. n. transfer to Ategumia (Shaffer 1988 note on LepIndex card). Designated as the TS of Hemopsis by Kirti & Rose 1987.
Description
Dark shiny brown with pale yellow patches. There are broad yellow post median band on both wings In fresh specimens they are yellow to cream coloured but this fades to white. The head, thorax and abdomen are dull brown the latter with pale intersegmental rings Inoue et al. (1982, pl. 42, fig. 33.) provides an illustration of the female but The image on Inoue Plate 42, fig.33 which is slightly different from the morphotypes from HK we use as an illustration. They could be a separate sp. The genus Hemopsis contains many undescribed or poorly designated spp..
