Taxonomy
The male lectotype of Gonocausta? vestigialis Snellen, 1890: 628 from India, Sikkim was chosen by by Munroe et. al. (1958: 87). It is in the RMNH, Leiden. The two syntypes returned to Elwes are lost. Snellen only provisionally placed it in Gonocausta rather than Agrotera and thought it needed a new genus.
Description
The distinctively scalloped wings of this sp. are thin-scaled and semi-transparent. The veins are picked out by brownish scales and there is a brown patch near the inner edge of the HW. There is line of black dots submarginally on both wings. The head thorax and abdomen are fulvous with black bands on the abdomen. See Discothyris sp. 1.
