Taxonomy

Dichocrocis sp. 5 nr. D. pandamalis (Walker, 1859e). A series from Sabah in the Schulze Coll. Another specimen from Kalimantan, Pulau Laut is in the BMNH.

Description

The patterning and the discal spot on the yellow FW & HW form a series of broad black elongate spots following the antemedian and post-median fasciae on the FW and the median fascia of the HW. The males have distinctive huge brushes of hair scales at the abdoment tip, which ends in a black central patch.

Dichocrocis sp. 4 is similar but that morphotype has large black spot in the FW discocellular area. Schulze (2000) ‘Conogethes sp. 1’, taxon #230.
