Taxonomy
Brunei, Kg. Kapok (female fig'd Plate 8 Canaea Sp.3 (a), male above). Malaysia, Frazer’s Hill, Gap. Canaea sp.3 is an unnamed series in the NHM (Mi7316).
Description
The males resemble C. tessellatula Pagenstecher 1892 and may be the same. The females are slightly more orange than the males. However this association of male and female is tentative. The female of C. semitessellata is very similar but lacks the the pale orange ground colour of the wings and the small hyaline oval fenestra in the centre of the FW.
