Taxonomy

Trigonoorda? sp. 1 is an un-named, unspread specimen from Sarawak (Gng. Mulu N.P.) in the BMNH. Generic placement provisional.

Description

A silky white thinly-scaled sp.. FW with darker shading on the apex and sub termenally. There is a dark c-shaped mark extending from the pale brown costa. It has serrate submedian and post median lines on the FW. The shining white, thinly scaled HW is devoid of markings. The frons is brown, the thorax is shining white with a brown patagium and the abdomen is a silky pale orange proximally changing to white distally. A similar specimen from PNG in BOLD Taxon ID USNM ENT 00798303 has been DNA squenced (Ratnasingham & Hebert, 2007). Trigonoorda triangularis Munroe, 1974: 29-31 from PNG, has similar FW markings but the FW is more uniformly pale pinkish buff and the HW is a pale yellowish buff. Trigonoorda sp. 2 has similar wing markings but the FW has a broad pale brown subtermenal area.
