Taxonomy
Trichophysetis sp. 7. An unnamed morphotype from Sabah (MKNP) in the MfNH (Berlin).
Generic placement uncertain.
Several specimens of these small black and white morphotypes have been seen from parts of SE Asia. Here they are informally grouped into the ‘Black & white Trichophysetis’ group.
Description
A sp. with large diffuse patches of black scales on a white back ground. The FW has a black spot in the cell and three or four elongate marginal spots. The black scales form a diffuse submarginal band and an incomplete postmedian line starts at the costa. The HW also has elongate black marginal spots near its apex and has a serrate black post median line. The abdomen is elongate. See Trichophysetis spp. 9 & 10 which are similar. but the details of the patterning distinguishes this sp. from them.
