Taxonomy

Trichophysetis sp. 3 is an unnamed morphotype from Sabah (Tawau) in the MfNH (Berlin).

Generic placement uncertain. Several specimens of these small black and white morphotypes have been seen from parts of S.E. Asia. Here they are informally grouped into the 'Black & white Trichophysetis' group.

Description

A mainly white sp. with some blackisk markings and a scattering of darker scales. The most distinct markings are a black median spot on the FW and a diffuse dark median band on the posterior part of the HW. There are some small blackish spots on the FW costa and the HW margins. The tips of the mainly white tegulae are black. Note the large porrect palpi.
