Description
A robust moth with red-orange wings with brown reticulation and venation. The females are marginally larger. There is usually a small orbicular stigma of pinkish grey scales. The transverse FW line curves towards the apical angle. The brown tibiae have a noticeable creamy white spot. T. vialis is the only common Telchines sp. (RTS:127, pl. 22, fig. 2). Konvicka et al., (1998) draw attention to triangular posterior-orientated spines on the uncus which are characteristic of the males of this species but are not mentioned by Whalley (1976).
