Taxonomy
The holotype of Botys inscisalis Walker, 1865 [1866] from India (Darjeeling).
Description
The FW is mainly dark purplish with a metallic sheen and fulvous sub-costa, apex and termen. HW is a pearly pale purple. The head and body are a similar purple colour.
Life History
This sp. was a common pyralid pollinator on the flowers of Neonauclea pallida (Rubiaceae) noted by Weber (2000a,b).
