Description
A very common sp. with distinctive markings in brown and white. Speidel (1984) and Yoshiyasu (1985) give full descriptions. There is little variation over its range. The male antennae are slightly swollen, continuously scaled and finely pubescent. The labial palps are drooping with a tuft of long dark brown scales on their second segment. See RTS (1994).
Life History
Yoshiasu (1987: 146) gives the food plant of Paracymoriza spp. in Japan as Podostemaceae. This species was the most common pyralid acting as a pollinator of the flowers of Neonauclea pallida (Rubiaceae) in Thailand (Weber, 2000a, b).
