Taxonomy
Niphostola sp. 2. an un-named morphotype from Sabah, Mt. Kinabalu area in the Schulze and the ITBC Borneensis Coll.
Description
FW white with very pale brownish suffusions and a slighly darker venation with five large black spots: two basally, one sub-apical on the termen, one medially on the inner margin and one on the post median sub-costa. The outermost spots are joined by a black lines. The FW apex is narrowly black. The HW is a mainly pale grey-brown, with a black margins and white fringes.
Head Thorax and abdomen pale grey-brown. There is a black band near the abdomen tip and two others more proximal. The eyes are noticeably pale green. Schulze (2000) taxon #856. ‘Tyspanodes sp. 1’.
The dark, ‘V shaped’ fascia is on the FW is distinctive.
