Taxonomy
The holotype of Mabra lacriphaga Bänziger, 1985: 25–26, figs 1, 4–7, described from Thailand, Chiengmai prov., forest place road Chiengmai-Chiendo, km 55, 380 m, is in the collection of the Department of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture of Chiang Mai University, Thailand (DEFACU).

Life History
Adults are flying mainly during the rainy season. The male moths are oligolacryphagous and inbibe tears only occasionally, while mostly sucking sweat, sebum, blood droplets excreted by mosquitos, and exudates from wounds; known host organisms are Indian elephant, Malayian tapir, water buffalo and humans.
