Taxonomy

Imaged specimen from Sulawesi. Hypolamprus sp. 17 is an unnamed series in the NHM (Mi7374).

Description

The wings have a complex fasciation of dark reddish brown markings on a golden brown background. The FW has a submedian fascia which widens posteriad. The HW has a curved slightly darker median band. The HW base and distal parts of the FW are flushed red.

Similar Species

This is very similar but more distinctly marked than Hypolamprus sp. 16. See also other members of the H. emblicalis-ornata-vinosata group.
