Taxonomy
The female paralectotype from Lower Burma is imaged. The female holotype of Banisia ocellipennis (Warren, 1908:327) from Upper Burma [Myanmar] is in the NHM (Mi7375).

Description
A species with a falcate FW, which has large red-brown areas mainly basally and extending irregularly along the costa to join with a very broad median fascia. The rest of the wings are pale with a brown reticulated pattern. The HW has an irregular median band, slightly expanded at the wing margins.
Similar Species
The patterning resembles some Canaea species (e.g. C. semitessellata). See also Plates
