Taxonomy

The female holotype of Botys polusalis Walker, 1859: 703 is in the UMNH Oxford. The type number 971 was collected by A. R. Wallace in Sarawak. As Hydrorybina in Shaffer et al., 1996.

Description

The rusty red colour of the wing bases fades to purple on the wing margins. The patterning is simple with narrow curving, brown submedian and post-median lines on the FW and a single straight narrow brown submarginal line on the HW which finishes about halfway across the wing where the basal area is pale.
