Taxonomy
The female holotype of Ebulea miniosalis Guenée 1854: 362 from Australia is in the BMNH. Sutrisno & Horak (2003) re-examined the genus and re-described the sp.

Description
An often distinctive bright fiery-red and pink sp. quite variable in the distinctness of its lineations including a pale form which is more yellow and pink. Its variability may indicate a species complex which merits closer investigation. Morphotypes like this have been variously listed as Ostrinea, Paliga & Pionea. Schulze (2000) Taxon #704.
