Taxonomy
Male paratype, Java, Singolangoe, Kletak Tengger. The holotype of Herdonia pallescens Inoue, 2001:322-323 & Figs. from Java (Kletak Tengger) is in the NHM (Mi7449). Female unknown.
Description
A giant amongst the thyridids. A species with a distinctive white spotting and tessellation on the FW. The FW Costa is protuberant near the base, then a little concave. The apex is markedly falcate and the termen is weakly gibbous. HW with brown basal fascia. Frons chocolate brown, paler ventrally; patagium dark brown, as is the dorsal mid-line of the thorax. The antennal rami are about three times longer than the width of the shaft.
