Taxonomy
Male holotype, Sabah, Keningau. The male holotype of Herdonia acutapex Inoue, 1993 is from Sabah (Keningau). It and the two paratypes are in the NSM Tokyo. Female unknown. Inoue (1993:139 & figs.).
Description
This is a medium to large sized species. Only three males from Sabah are known. The basal third of the antennae is dentate but from the middle they become more slender resembling a short length of unipectination. The upper half of the face is brown with white below. The FW termen is deeply falcate and then gibbous. The HW has thin, black, double, postmedian and submarginal lines. The postmedian fascia is filled with reddish brown and forks towards the inner margin. The submarginal lines follow the termen and contain dark dashes.
