Taxonomy
Glaucocharis barlowi Shaffer-Gaskin MS name.
Gaskin (1985) described 16 new spp. but in the BMNH are several other Glaucocharis spp. labeled as holotypes [probably by Shaffer] but we cannot find any publication ref. associated with them. Until this is clarified we are treating those names as Shaffer-Gaskin MS names.
Description
As in all Glaucocharis spp. the FW is slightly bifalcate. It is pale blue-grey tinged with orange and with orange lines termenally towards the apex. There is a curving pale subtermenal line edged with grey and a dark grey antemedian line indented centrally towards the wing base. There are a few black marginal spots above the tornus and a black elongate discal spot. The HW is pale purple grey but some veins are slightly suffused with orange. The shape of the ante-median line serves to distinguish it.
