Taxonomy

Eristena sp. 2; an unnamed specimen nr. E. mesilauensis Mey; from Sabah (KML) in the Borneensis Collection.

Description

The orange-yellow FW is clouded with dark grey-brown centrally and has sub marginal and post median white fasciae. The latter forms a V with the median fascia. between them is an inverted fulvous triangular patch edged in dark grey-brown. The HW is typical of Eristena, deeply falcate, with a broad white central band on orange-yellow. On the termen are a two small small white apical spots, all that exists of a subterminal band similar to Eristena monika. E. mesilauensis is very similar but the subtermenal white band of that sp. is almost continuous but both sp. lack the distinct inverted fulvous triangular patch on the FW.
