Taxonomy
The holotype of Oligostigma excisalis Snellen 1900[1901]: 289, pl. 16, fig. 9, from Java is in Leiden.
- syn. Oligostigma auropunctalis Hampson 1903 var. javanica Strand, 1914. TL Java (Arjuno). Described twice by Hampson (1903: 210 & 1907: 466). Syn. n. (Speidel & Mey 1999b).
As a temporary measure Speidel & Mey (1999b) transferred the sp. to Eristena Warren, 1896.
Description
Typical Eristena colouration and general patterning. A pale fulvous sp. with lighter bands on the FW which has a markedly angled, almost straight, termen. The falcate HW has a broad, dull white median band with three very small dark spots with an adjacent slightly larger white spot at the tornus. Schulze (2000) taxon #012.
