Description

A handsome and distinctively patterned sp. in contrasting white brown and orange. It has long orange brown tegulae which contrast with the dark brown thorax. The abdomen is mainly fulvous. The falcate HW has a broad fulvous central band and beyond the marginal incision are three marginal eye-spots, two with a white outer ring. There is a marked sexual difference in size, the females being larger. The sp. shows a crepuscular flight activity with a peak in the first two hours after dark (Speidel et al., 2002). It is uncommon but widely distributed and often recorded in forest canopy samples. See (Speidel et al., 2002) for figs of the male and female genitalia.
