Taxonomy
The male holotype of Eoophyla boernickei Mey 2006, TL Sabah (Tawau Hills N.P.), is in the MfNH, Berlin. Paratypes are deposited in the FRC (Sabah, Sepilok), LIPI (Indonesia, Bogor), Leiden & BMNH.
Description
This sp. has the typical Eoophyla FW patterning. Note the distinctive HW with a pronounced anal angle in the male (a feature shared with E. ceratucha Meyrick, 1894a, E. continentalis Jaenicke & Mey 2011 and E. corniculatus Jaenicke & Mey 2011). Jaenicke & Mey (2011) give a full description of males and females including illustrations of genitalia and comparisons with other spp. in the Eoophyla ceratucha-group.
