Description
Wing colouration and markings are rather variable ranging from light rust to dark brownish or brownish red (Slamka, 2013: 27) they form a dense network of dark markings on a more yellow background. Slamka, 2013) illustrates European examples. Slamka 2013 (p. 281, Colour Pl. 4 figs 25a-25e) and male and female genitalia (p.143, Pl. 4 fig 25 & p.200, Pl. 61, fig. 25).
See Li et al. (2009: 357, Pl. XIII, fig. 175; 391, Pl. XLVII, fig. 175; 429, Pl. LXXV, fig. 175). This sp. can easily be mistaken for some Carmiibotys spp. and Autocharis ignealis but the former are much smaller and the latter can be easily determined by its simple hindwings mainly pale with a darker termenal band.
