Dichocrocis sp. 18

Taxonomy

Dichocrocis sp. 18. A very worn male specimen from Sabah (DVCA) in the SLS Coll.. Whitaker-Kitching Taxon #2665.

Description

This sp. is typical of the pandamalis group. It has usual bright yellow colour with three black spots on the FW formed by the thick post-medial fascia which is divided to a short black line on the costa and subcosta, a retracted part subtermenally and a short final line to the inner margin. The broad black PML on the HW is also retracted to the meddle of the termen. Note the FW has a discal spot and other spots are basal and on the costa in the antemedian position. The males have very large anal scale tufts. The general patterning is very similar in Dichocrocis sp. 15 but in that morphotype the lines are very much finer.
