Taxonomy

Cotachena sp. 3 nr. C. pubescens Warren 1892: 300. Specimens in Berlin MfNH & a series in the Schulze Coll.

Description

This is a fulvous brown and yellow species with three hyaline spots on the FW two anteriorly on at the antemedian and another in the post-median position. and a third, a median spot near the anterior margin very close to C. pubescens. It differs from C. pubescens in that the median area of the FW is mainly brown and there is no brown sub-termenal band on the HW. The HW apex has a dark brown patch and at the tornal margin is a small dark spot that is less obvious in C. pubescen. A similar spot on the posterior margin is absent in C. pubescens.
