Taxonomy
The male holotype of Cotachena alysoni Whalley 1961: 101, fig. 3a, pl. 3 fig. 6, from China (Chang Yang), is in the BMNH.
Description
The head and thorax are a fulvous brown as is the abdomen which has white intersegmental rings. Note the FW with three rectangular, hyaline spots on a yellow and fulvous brown back ground. The HW is a yellowish colour but this fades to white and it is crossed by brownish post-median and sub-median lines It has a narrow brown termenal line. The female is undescribed despite being common in collections. Cotachena pubescens is very similar but the male genitalia of this sp. can be distinguished from other Cotachena spp. in having a blunt uncus Whalley (1961: 104, text fig. 3a)
