Taxonomy
Coptobasis sp. 4. Unnamed specimens in many collections (BMNH, Berlin MfNH & SLS Coll.) from Sabah (DVFC) and Brunei. These morphotypes are almost certainly on a spectrum including Coptobasis sp. 3.
Description
The brownish wings have a distinct purplish sheen. The wings are virtually obsolete except for a very indistinct darker patch in the FW cell. The FW subcosta is a slightly darker purple-brown The termenae have a narrow pale marginal line at the base of the dark cillia.This morphospecies has a cream pectoral collar. The antennal bases are simple and the scape is filiform in the females but the males have highly modified bases and the antennae are flattened laterally. See the similar Coptobasis sp. 3.
