The male holotype of Phrynganodes eradicalis Hampson, 1908: 579-80 is from Singapore, paratypes are from India (Andaman Is.).
Here we provisionally treat it in Coptobasis Lederer 1863 as similar to many Pramadea and Coptobasis spp.
Description
A silky cupreous brown colour with a slight purple iridescence. Markings are obscure but a faint darker brown patch indicates an orbicular stigma on the FW. The unmarked HW is rather more ‘square’ than most other Coptobasis spp. One specimen in the B.M.N.H. series has a an overall violet sheen. The body is brown and the abdomen is elongate. The brown tegulae are very long. The filiform antennae are highly modified at the base.
