Clupeosoma Snellen 1880: 203, exhibits sexual dimorphism with smaller males often with large tufts of hair scales on the FW.
Description
A purplish sp. with an narrow orange margin to the termen of both wings. Any colouration is confined to the anterior part of the HW. The body is brownish purple with pale intersegmental bands. A dark patch of scent scales subcostally in the post median position extends as a distinctive comb of scent scales to the anterior margin where there is another elongated patch of scent scales. These could be the males of Clupeosoma glaucinalis Hampson, 1917 but the association is not definite. Schulze (2000) taxon #649A.
