Cirrhochrista holophaealis [Partim] Hampson

Taxonomy

Piletosoma holophaealis Hampson, 1912h: 2-3 is not a monophyletic taxon. The male holotype from Singapore is not the same as the female co-type from Borneo (Sandakan). Generic placement in doubt but here we treat the male type in Coptobasis (in the optobasis mesospectralis group) and the female type with Cirrhochrista (in the C. spissalis group).

Note that Piletosoma (Hampson 1899: 707) T.S. Botys novalis Walker, 1865 [1866 Jan 13], is probably a genus confined to the New World.

See The genus Pachybotys Warren 1895: 476.

Description

An almost unmarked sp. and entirely brown dorsally. The head is marginally paler as is the  underside.

This sp. resembles some members of the Cirrhochrista spissalis group but its palpi are different. See the genus Pachybotys Warren 1895: 476.
