Taxonomy
Carminibotys? sp. 2 is an unnamed series in the MfNH (Berlin) and the Schulze Coll and in ITBC Borneensis.
Generic placement is provisional.
Description
An attractive purple and yellow sp. Note the long porrect palpi. Pyrausta carminalis Caradja, 1925b: 371 TL China and the TS of Carminibotys Munroe & Mutuura 1971: 180 is similar. See Carminibotys sp. 1 which is superficially similar but is somewhat larger and may not be of the same genus. Schulze (2000) taxon #733.
Life History
Larva of Carminibotys carminalis iwawakisana are reported as feeding on Phyllanthus flexuosus (Euphorbiaceae) (Murase, 2001)
