Taxonomy
The holotype of Sisyrophora cirralis Swinhoe, 1897: 170 is from South Borneo. The holotype of Sisyrophora cirralis Swinhoe, 1897: 170 is from South Borneo [Kalimantan]. Shaffer [LepIndex card] suggested a transfer to Palpita Hübner, 1808 but like the LepIndex we treat it in Caprinia Walker, 1859: 543, a genus resurrected by Rose (1982: 60). It is the TS of Caprinia. It is also the TS of Sylora Swinhoe, 1900. That genus has been synonymized by Shaffer et al. (1996, Lep. Australia 4: 195) with Palpita Hübner, 1808. Shaffer [LepIndex card] suggested a transfer to Palpita Hübner, 1808 (where Globiz treats it).
Caprinia Walker, 1859: 543, is a genus resurrected by Rose (1982: 60), but that is almost certainly a New World genus. Therefore although cirralis Swinhoe, 1897 technically should be treated in the genus Palpita where it is not well fitted, for the moment we leave it in Caprinia.
