Taxonomy
Brunei, Labi, LP (Helicopter Landing Place) 195. Canaea sp. 1 is an unnamed series in the NHM (Mi7316). RTS illustrates it with a specimen from GTE.
Description
The wings are a uniformly dark brown colour with dark red reticulation and groups of pale fenestrae. This morphotype is typical of the second general type of patterning seen in Canaea. The males have a long expandible hair pencil arising from the base of the hind tibiae. Canaea sp. 2 is a similar species which lacks the indistinct brown streak near the FW tornus.
