Taxonomy
Sarawak, Lohaban. The holotype of Pyralis puralis Walker, [1866] 1865:1238 from Sarawak is in the OUMNH. comb. n. to Calindoea (Shaffer & Nielsen, 1996).
Description
A distinctive wing pattern. FW with a large purple-brown blotch on a silver background. The FW blotch is smaller than in C. argentalis and there is a triangular brown patch near the FW termen. The Un FW costa is highlighted in gold. Another unnamed series (NHM Mi7351) from Sumbawa, Calindoea sp. 6 is similar to both C.puralis and C.argentalis. It has a small distinct, black triangle on the FW tornus but differences in the spotting and blotching.
