Taxonomy

Calamotropha sp. 2 nr. C. obliterans (Walker, 1863). Specimens in the Schulze Coll.

Description

There is little fasciation on the brownish or golden straw coloured FW apart from a faint sigmoid median line, a thin dark strongly curving sub-termenal line and a narrow darker termenal area and a dark punctum in the orbicular area. The apex has an elongate dark spot on the FW apex with an indistinct pale spot below the apex. The paler HW is without markings. The fringes are creamy white. The palpi are long, porrect and furry. Schulze (2000) taxon #868. See Calamotropha obliterans (Walker, 1863) and Calamotropha spp. 1, 3 & 4 which may be conspecific.
