Bacotoma? sp. 1

Taxonomy

Bacotoma sp. 1 is an un-named sp. from Sabah (PHS) in the Schulze Coll.

Description

The soft purple-brown and yellow colours of this sp. resembles some of the Parbokla spp. in the Phryganodes diffusimarginalis group but it is superficially more similar to the group of Bacotoma spp. illustrated in Yang et al. (2019).

It has distinct dark brown-grey lineation on both wings with a curved antemedian line on both HW & FW. The FW has a short median line which starts centrally below an elongate spot and a finely serrate post-median line which starts at a black triangle on the sub costa and runs two thirds the way across the wing. On the HW there is a narrow antemedian line which runs mostly complete towards the tornus and a curving median line which runs from to costa to the middle. The abdomen is dull orange with black and white markings at the tip.

Schulze (2000) taxon #591.
