Bacotoma camillusalis Walker

Taxonomy

The holotype of Botys camillusalis Walker, 1859d: 713 from Sarawak is in the BMNH.

Description

A fulvous and brown sp. with a long, orange abdomen with two pairs of black spots near the abdomen tip. Note the almost straight dark post median line to the inside of the broad dark submarginal band on the HW in some specimens this may be offset centrally. Yang et al (2019: 11) illustrate the male genitalia, figs. 5C & 6C and the female genitalia in fig 7B. The abdomen is long and in common with many Bacotoma spp. the end segments of the orange-scaled abdomen of the male has two pairs of black and white marks and obvious elongate valvae at its tip, which Yang et al (2019: 10, Figs 4 A-E), illustrate. Compare with Bacotoma binotalis (Warren, 1896) where the margins of the darker sub-marginal areas are different.
