Taxonomy
The holotype of Noorda ignealis Hampson, 1899: 221 from PNG (Louisiade Arch., Fergusson Is.) is in the BMNH as is a paratype from Australia, Queensland (Cooktown).
Description
The aptly named A. ignealis is an unmistakeable fiery reddish orange with darker reddish markings tending to purple at the wing margins.
Ecpyrrhorrhoe rubiginanalis (Hubner) can appear to be very similar. Do not confuse with Endotricha ignealis Guenée which is totally different.
