Taxonomy

The holotype of Glyphodes fessalis Swinhoe, [1886], 1885: 459, pl. 41 fig. 13, is from China (Macau).

A. amethystina (Swinhoe, 1894a :149) is not considered a synonym although listed as such in LepIndex.

Description

Wings pale cream with pale purplish sub-termenal areas. Those of the FW delineated by a straight brown subterminal line. The FW has a narrow, pale reddish brown, costal area. Note the long porrect palpi.

Compare with Autocharis amethystina Swinhoe which is a much larger creamy white sp. This non-Bornean sp. is included for comparison with A. amethystina.
