Taxonomy
The holotype of Sylepta [sic] pseudovialis Hampson, 1912: 1268 is from India ([Meghalaya] Khasia Hills). In LepIndex & Globiz as Syllepte. However visually this is more akin to the Coptobasis opisalis group where we provisionally place it.
Description
Glossy purple brown when fresh and a few white spots and lines. Note the distinctive white ‘coronet’ on the post median line of the FW The antennal basis are highly modified with the base of the shaft deeply excised.
It is very similar to Authaeretis eridora Meyrick 1889: 252 and superficially similar to Herpetogramma luctusalis Guenee, 1854) which may be misplaced in Herpetogramma.
