Taxonomy
The holotype of Astura insolitalis Walker, 1862 [1864]a: 125 from Sarawak was collected by A.R. Wallace. The holotype #1075 is in the UMNH, Oxford.
As Nacoleia (RTS: 184, pl. 30, fig.20.) in Globiz and in LepIndex as Lamprosema.
RTS (1994: 184) note that the range and constituent spp of both Nacoleia and Lamprosema have not been clarified. The validity of Astura is in doubt.
It is not well placed in either of those genera as recently constituted, so we treat it in its original genus.
Description
An unmistakeable bright yellow and purplish-brown sp. with broad wings. The head, thorax and abdomen are yellow the latter with broad rectangular patches of brown. Astura sp. 1 may be a var. of this sp.
