Taxonomy
The holotype of Margaronia tricoloralis Pagenstecher, 1888: 190 is from Amboina.
Description
A distinctive pale blue-green species with darker green central blotches on all wings. The costa is marked by a thin red brown area. The legs are extensively marked with red and the abdomen shows a series of red triangles dorsally on all abdominal segments. Males have black and red hair pencils at the tip of their abdomens. The antennal pedicel of the male is highly modified with an excavated area.
