- Family: Thyrididae
- Subfamily: Striglininae
- Genus: Aglaopus
- Distribution: Assam, Andaman Is., Myanmar, Sabah, Kalimantan Selatan, Philippines.
- Habitat: Lowland primary and secondary forest, <800m.

Taxonomy
Burma, East Pegu. ssp. platyntis (Meyrick); Danum Valley, Malua F.R.
The holotype of Sonagara bivittata Moore (1883c:27, pl. 6, fig. 7) from India (Andaman Is.) is deposited in the NHM. ms comb. n. to Aglaopus (Shaffer, 1990 LepIndex).
- Syn. Rhodoneura platyntis Meyrick (1894:479). TL: Kalimantan Selatan (Pulau Laut). The type is in the NHM. stat. n. as a ssp. of A. bivittata Whalley (1976: 12).
- Note: This is a very small morphotype and may prove to be a good species, as Whalley appears to have examined only females.
Vertical range: <800m.
Description
This is a small dark brown species with indistinct reticulation giving a speckled pattern. In addition to the nominate ssp., one named and two unnamed sspp. are recorded:
- Ssp. bivittata (Moore, 1883c), India (Andaman Is.), is relatively unmarked with indistinct antemedian and sub-marginal fasciation.
- Ssp. platyntis (Meyrick, 1894) from Borneo is strongly banded on the FW and HW with darker antemedian, sub-marginal and marginal fasciation than the nominate ssp. This is the smallest ssp. (c. 14 mm wing span).
